Question
What's the ruling of having God or الله written on a hoodie or
upper garment?
— Mohammed, United Kingdom
Answer
There is no harm in wearing garments that have the name of Allāh on them in an honorable and respectable place such as, at the front of the upper garment on the chest area.
One must not wear such clothing if they are not certain they will be able to uphold the respect of the name of Allāh by; for example, removing the garment before going to the toilets, placing it respectably when removed, and upholding respect when washing the garment etc, because the name of Allāh Ta`ālā must be revered and respected at all times and Allāh knows best.
It is preferable to use, 'Allāh' rather than the word, 'God' for Allāh Ta`ālā and Allāh knows best.
